NEW: Securing Foundations at Year 7
Bridging the maths gaps at Key Stage 3
National data indicates that, since Covid, the number of children not meeting age related expectations in maths by the end of KS2 is increasing. Supporting these students when they move from primary to secondary school can be challenging - requiring specialist knowledge of the earlier curriculum; something Year 7+ teachers may not feel equipped or confident to teach.
Our new Securing Foundations at Year 7 provides teachers with expert knowledge and resources, to help support students to bridge the gaps in their understanding of maths.
What's involved?
Sign up and you'll join an online community of teachers, building your curriculum knowledge and practice of KS1 and KS2 maths. You'll also have access to high-quality resources, designed by experts in the pedagogy and expectations of maths at both KS2 and KS3.
Expected outcomes
- your students will make progress to be better able to access a suitable KS3 curriculum
- you'll develop your pedagogic and content knowledge of KS1 and KS2 maths
- you'll consider approaches which support all
- you'll work as part of a professional learning community - reflecting on your approaches, deepening your understanding of effective approaches and refining your practice.
What's the cost?
The Securing Foundations at Year 7 project is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme and is free to participating state schools*.
